Nashville has always been a city that produces extraordinary women. The lineup of female artists coming out of this town — and landing here — is something else entirely.
Nashville has always been a city that produces extraordinary women. But right now? The lineup of female artists coming out of this town — and landing here — is something else entirely.
Every month I find someone new who stops me in my tracks, and June is no different. Here are five women I have on repeat right now, and I have a feeling you will too.
Okay, I’ll admit it — I’m a little late to this one. But I’m probably still ahead of a few of you, so let’s call it even.
The first time you see Ashley Anne, you might do a double take. The long blonde hair, the guitar, the kind of songwriting that gets under your skin and stays there.
Yes, you’re going to think about Taylor Swift. And honestly? If you’re a Swiftie who lives for lyrics that cut you open and heal you at the same time, Ashley Anne is your next obsession.
Her latest album, Generational Heartbreak, is brilliant from start to finish. Every lyric is intentional. Every note earns its place. She co-wrote every single song on it, and you can feel that ownership in every track.
Carly Pearce and Laci Kaye Booth are already in her corner — which tells you everything you need to know about the kind of artist she is. She’s a true girls’ girl, and I cannot wait for you to get to know her.

This one goes on repeat until you know every word. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I loved Angie K on The Voice years ago, and then somehow I lost track of her. That won’t be happening again.
Her album Whiskey and Hemingway drops June 25th, and if the singles she’s already released are any indication, we are in for something really special.

“Sweatin'” and “Contigo” went straight onto my 2026 favorites playlist the moment I heard them. These songs transport you.
We’re talking tiki lights in the backyard, a bonfire going, mezcal margaritas in hand — even if you never leave your house.
If you see me in full Western wear this summer, it’s because this album convinced me I need a trip to Arizona and I’m just going ahead and pretending I’m already there.
She’s back, she’s better than ever, and Whiskey and Hemingway is going to be one of the albums of the summer. Mark it.

Being a Swiftie means I know exactly what it feels like to count down the days until new music arrives.
Kelsi Mayne has me in that mode in 2026, and I did not see her coming.
One Instagram reel of “Time Machine” and I was following, pre-saving, and sending the link to everyone I know within about thirty seconds.
If you need heartbreak music that makes you feel like the prize they were too foolish to hold onto — Kelsi has you completely covered.
She’s one to watch, and you’re going to want to be early on this one.

I saw Ella Maddux at The Listening Room and watched her capture an entire room in real time. Including me.
Her voice is somehow both completely fresh and current while also sounding like something you heard in a candlelit café in Paris in another lifetime.
Is it country? Is it pop? I genuinely don’t care, and once you hear her, you won’t either. She writes from the heart and you feel it in your bones.
Officially on my “one to watch” list — and I have a feeling her name is going to be everywhere soon.
Ella, if you’re reading this, we need to get you on the podcast. Consider this your invitation.

Two songs. Download them right now: “Never Beg a Man” and “Copy & Paste.”
Onoleigh is a Nashville-based artist originally from Illinois who has been quietly building something impressive in this city — writing with some of Nashville’s best, performing everywhere from the Bluebird Cafe to the Broadway circuit, and releasing music that has already crossed a million streams.
And it’s not hard to hear why. Her voice is crystal clear with the kind of precision that makes you stop what you’re doing and actually listen.
But it’s the lyrics that land. She writes about knowing your worth, walking away with your head high, and not shrinking yourself for anyone — and she means every word of it.
“Never Beg a Man” is exactly what it sounds like, and it’s the anthem you didn’t know you needed for your summer playlist. “Copy & Paste” will have you hitting repeat before it’s even finished.
She’s rooted in country, delivered with soul, and completely her own thing. Get in now.

And Onoleigh — we’re coming for you. You belong on this podcast and we are making that happen.
