I’m changing up New Music Friday. Starting today, instead of simply rounding up new releases, I am choosing four albums, EPs or singles that make me want to hold that CD or vinyl in my hands.
Remember when Friday nights meant heading to your local music store, putting on the headphones and seeing what was new? And if you were really lucky, you left with a new single or album tucked under your arm.
With a nod to that nostalgia, I’m changing up New Music Friday. Starting today, instead of simply rounding up new releases, I am choosing four albums, EPs or singles that make me want to hold that CD or vinyl in my hands.
This list isn’t pay to play – and it never will be. I love reviewing music and choosing my favorites. I want you to know that each week you can count on me to give you my favorites – the ones I’ll be playing all weekend long! And i want y’all to join the conversation on Instagram and Facebook.
Let us know in the comments which ones you’re loving — and share your favorites if they didn’t make my list.
Let’s get into it!
I’m so excited that Jenny’s full album is finally out in the world.
I first talked to Jenny about this album back in June and I knew this one would be special.
Real country, perfect vocals, songs that make you feel something and production quality that makes me say, “now THAT’s how we do things in Music City!”
We love you, Jenny! Congrats on the album!

It’s here. This album is finally here!!! Trey sat down with me during CMA Fest and I knew this album was going to be a favorite.
I attended his album release party at The Basement last night and it was so much fun to hear this album live!

The band was phenomenal, and Trey sounded incredible. One of the highlights of hearing Trey live, though, is the way he and his wife Lexi harmonize and have fun on stage.
It’s like watching a love story unfold in real time when they sing these songs. 🩷
“Spend My Time Lovin” has been on repeat for me all summer, but “As Good As It Gets” is another favorite for me. This album truly is a “listen start to finish” album. Y’all go check it out — and catch me around town in my new Podunk shirt!
First, happy birthday, Onoleigh! Y’all don’t want to miss today’s episode of the podcast (available at noon CDT).
We got to celebrate a birthday and a single release!
Onoleigh continues to pull us in with each new release this year. This one is no different.
By the time you get to the first chorus, you’ll be reaching for the volume to turn this one all the way up!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Renata The Band transports me to those early Lady A days in the best way! I’m a sucker for perfectly blended harmonies and these 3 never miss!
The song was co-written with Nashville hit songwriter Matt McKinney, whose credits include Tim McGraw, Jordan Davis, ERNEST, and Trey Lewis, and produced by Mitch Furr, known for his work with Keith Urban.
You definitely hear those vibes in the writing and country-rock production!
Renata The Band – hope to see y’all in the studio very soon!
Happy Friday, y’all!
