I've never been the girl who gets excited about pizza. I know...probably not the sentence you expected to start a pizza review.
I’ve never been the girl who gets excited about pizza.
I know…probably not the sentence you expected to start a pizza review.
In fact, I’m not even much of a meat eater. So when I walked into Prince Street Pizza ahead of its grand opening this week, I figured I’d enjoy the experience, take a few photos, and maybe have a slice or two.
I wasn’t expecting to leave wearing a Prince Street Pizza hat and texting friends that I’ll 100% wait in line with them so they can try it!
I’m here to tell you – this place is a whole vibe! The moment you walk through the doors, it feels like someone picked up a neighborhood pizza shop from a busy New York City street corner and somehow dropped it right into the middle of Nashville.
The energy, the buzz behind the counter, the pace…it doesn’t feel manufactured. It feels authentic.
And every time the staff says, “Welcome to Prince Street,” it has happiness woven into it (just like it says on the box).
One thing was for sure – they’re serious about authenticity and getting every little detail exactly right.
One of my favorite details? Prince Street Pizza uses a specialized water filtration system that matches the exact pH of the water used in their New York locations.

Why? Because even the water affects how the dough rises. It’s the kind of obsessive attention to detail that tells you this isn’t just another pizza shop opening in town. It also means all my New Yorkers living in Nashville can rest assured that this really is the Prince Street Pizza you know and love.
Now let’s talk more about what to order. Manny was behind the counter, and he told me there was only one answer: “The Spicy Spring.” He also insisted I add the hot honey, and Manny did not steer me wrong! If you know me, you know this isn’t the pizza I’d normally order.
Between the meat and the spice, it was completely outside my comfort zone. And yet, it was one of the best slices of pizza I’ve ever had.
The spicy pepperoni, creamy ricotta, and drizzle of hot honey somehow balance each other perfectly. Every bite made me understand why people have been talking about this pizza for years.

Then I tried the Four Cheese.
Game over.
This one was much more my speed, and I immediately became a fan. Rich, cheesy, perfectly crisp around the edges, and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave after a long day downtown.
And can we have a moment for the fountain Coke? Maybe it was the pellet ice. Maybe it was the ratio of syrup. Maybe it was because pizza and Coca-Cola are just one of life’s perfect combinations.
Whatever the reason, I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a fountain Coke more. Sometimes it’s the little things.
One of the highlights of my visit was getting to step behind the scenes and tour the kitchen.
As y’all know, cooking isn’t exactly my area of expertise, but I was fascinated watching the team build each pizza with incredible precision. The perfect amount of sauce. The perfect amount of cheese. Every topping carefully placed before sliding the pizza into the beautiful brick oven.
What amazed me most? There weren’t timers going off every few minutes. They just knew.
With one of their signature pizzas, it bakes for a few minutes and then comes back out. Before it goes back in again, they scoop generous scoops of ricotta onto the pizza. Perfectly placed and scooped as if it was ice cream instead of cheese. When that pizza emerged, it got that signature drizzle of hot honey, and suddenly the pizza looked more like art than something that would soon be devoured by the lines of people out front.
And speaking of lines…prepare yourself.
My prediction? Prince Street Pizza is going to have some of the longest lines in Nashville for quite a while, especially after the Broadway bars close each night. Normally, that’s enough to send me somewhere else.
Not this time. I’d happily wait. Because once you taste it, you’ll understand exactly why everyone else is standing in line, too.
Whether you’re a New Yorker looking for a taste of home or a Nashvillian wondering what all the hype is about, Prince Street Pizza absolutely lives up to it.

Sometimes a restaurant opens because a city needs another place to eat. This one feels like Nashville just got another destination.
Trust Manny. Order the Spicy Spring. Don’t skip the hot honey. And grab a fountain Coke while you’re at it. You’ll thank me later.
